These are some of the Schools and Colleges in Cambridge that have foreign students (eg. Thai, Chinese) and that the  students have given us some feedback on. Here is some more detailed and specific information on these particular Schools/Colleges.  Abbey College consistently comes at the Top of the Rankings in Cambridge, and is one of the very top UK Colleges. They have many Students getting into Cambridge University and Oxford University and the very top UK universities each year. They have about 250 students in total, with very good quality Teachers and facilities. They have Personal tutors to look after the students and sports facilities they can use nearby (Kelsey Kerridge). They have their own Student Residences accommodation, and you can also stay with the local Host Families. The average Class sizes are around 8. It is located in the centre of Cambridge, very near to the railway station. Very friendly and efficient staff.

They offer GCSE, Foundation and A-level Courses.  Requirements are IELTS score of 5.0 for the A-level, Foundation and Pre-Masters Courses. Five GCSE subjects or equivalents (eg. Mattayom 6 (M6), Waeic) are required for the Foundation and A-level courses, which must include English and Maths, and be at least grade C in all 5 subjects. For Foundation good High school grades required (or equivalent eg. M6). English EFL can be done as an extra subject during the main study Course, if necessary. Abbey give students their own printed sets of Notes for each subject, written by the staff. These are really useful and saves the students time making their own subject notes. Fees are between 15 and 20 thousand pounds per year. 

 

Cambridge Seminars Tutorial College is a very small and friendly College that has very good quality Teachers and very small class sizes, of only about 1 or 2 to 5 or 6 for most subjects. There is therefore a great deal of individual attention to the Students needs. They have Personal tutors to look after the students. It is located in the centre of Cambridge, very near to main shopping centres. Nice staff.

They offer GCSE, Foundation, A-level, Pre-Masters and EFL/IELTS Courses. Requirements are IELTS score of 3.5 for the EFL/IELTS course and IELTS score of 5.0 for the A-level and Pre-Masters Courses and about 4.5 for the Foundation. Students can come to do just the English EFL course here. Some GCSEs or equivalents (eg. Mattayom 6 (M6), Waeic) are required for the A-level courses, which must include English and Maths GCSEs, but sometimes these can be done as an extra subject during the main study Course, along with extra IELTS English too if necessary. For Foundation good High school grades are required (or equivalent eg. M6). Fees are usually between 10 and 15 thousand pounds per year, but special discounts and scholarships are offered. 

 

Bellerby's School is a very good quality School, with a consistently good Ranking and they have a good record of Students getting into Cambridge University and Oxford University etc each year. They have small class sizes. They have Personal tutors to look after the students. They have 2 Campuses, one for Sciences and one for the Humanities (Arts) subjects, so be careful about your location in Cambridge and where your accommodation is. The Arts campus (Queens building) is located in the centre of Cambridge, the Sciences campus is a little out of the centre. Maths is offered at both campuses. Very efficient organisation with good facilities.

They offer GCSE, Foundation, A-level, Pre-Masters or Masters Qualifying courses and University Diploma Courses. Requirements are IELTS score of about 4.5 for GCSE, 5.5 for the A-level, 4.0 or 4.5 for the Foundation and 4.5, 5.5 or 6.5 for the various Pre-Masters Courses. They also offer a one year Diploma course as a first year University Degree course, with a minimum IELTS requirement of 5.5. Normally 5 GCSEs of at least C grade or equivalents (eg. Mattayom 6 (M6), Waeic) are required for the A-level courses, which must include English and Maths, but sometimes these can be done as an extra subject during the main study Course, along with extra English too if necessary. For Foundation good High school grades required (or equivalent eg. M6). All the applicants with the lower acceptable IELTS scores have to do extra English courses. Fees are between 15 and 20 thousand pounds per year. Some partial scholarship discounts are offered.

 

MPW is a good quality School with a consistently good Ranking and offers good quality Teaching. It is located in the centre of Cambridge. They also have a good record of results and university entry. They specialise in A level teaching and have small class sizes. They have caring and considerate staff.

They offer GCSE and A-level Courses. Requirements are an Interview for all applicants and IELTS score of 5.0/5.5 for the GCSE and 6.0 for the A-level Courses (6.5 for A2). Six GCSEs of at least grade C or equivalents (eg. Mattayom 6, M6, Waeic) are required for the A-level courses, which must include English and Maths, but sometimes these can be done as an extra subject during the main study Course if necessary. Fees are between 15 and 20 thousand pounds per year. 

 

Embassy School teaches only English courses; IELTS, Diploma, EFL etc and offers short Courses and also longer courses. So students can come for less than 6 months on the Student Visitor Visa. Fees depend on the course, from about 3000 pounds upwards.
