GREEN BAY, Wis. Chris Watt Jersey . -- Even though the Green Bay Packers got a bargain the last time they signed Jordy Nelson to a contract extension, the veteran wide receiver said Tuesday he still would prefer to sign another deal before the season rather than playing out the final year of his contract. Nelson, who caught 85 passes for 1,314 yards last season, both career bests, said he doesnt know if his agent, Vann McElroy, and the Packers have had any meaningful conversations about an extension. "Hes not going to just bug me with it," he said. "Hell let me know when it gets close." The last time Nelson, a second-round pick in 2008, was in a contract year was in 2011, when he signed a three-year, $13.989 million extension in October. That deal included $5 million in guaranteed money, including a $3.5 million signing bonus. That deal paid Nelson a base salary of $2.7 million last year, and calls for him to make a base salary of $3.05 million in 2014. In terms of annual average salary, Nelson currently ranks 34th on the wide receiver pay scale league-wide entering 2014. But he indicated Tuesday that hes anxious to get a new deal simply because he wants the peace of mind. "You want it done so you and your family are comfortable, you want it done so you dont have to worry about it," he said. "I think on both sides. They get it done they can start working on someone else." That someone else is fourth-year wide receiver Randall Cobb, a second-round pick in 2011 who is going into the final year of his rookie deal. Cobb missed 10 games last season with a leg injury, but he returned in time to catch the playoffs-clinching touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers on a fourth-down play at Chicago in the regular-season finale last year. "Im not a businessman so I dont really know that side of it," Cobb said of his situation. "Thats what I have an agent for - for him to handle that kind of thing. Thats for the Packers to decide and figure out." It appears Nelson is the priority, and after Chicagos Brandon Marshall signed a four-year, $39.3 million extension ($22.3 million guaranteed) with the Bears last month, Nelsons market should be set. Marshall caught 100 passes for 1,295 yards and 12 TDs last season for the Bears. Marshall turned 30 in March; Nelson turned 29 last week. Asked if he feels additional pressure in a contract year, Nelson replied, "No. I dont think so, not at all. I didnt feel that last time, and I dont think Ill feel it this time. I think were a long ways from that anyway. Weve got a few months to hopefully work on that and get it taken care of. I think well be fine."Jeremiah Attaochu Womens Jersey . You can watch the game live in the first half of the NHL on TSNs doubleheader at 7pm et/4pm pt. You can also listen to the game live on TSN 690 Montreal. Montreal has recorded five straight wins and has earned at least a point in 10 straight games, posting a superb 9-0-1 record during that stretch. Ryan Carrethers Womens Jersey . At the bottom of the page the final score read "100-95" - Torontos third loss in four games - but it was how they got there that had the Raptors young centre shaking his head as he destroyed the evidence. KEARNS, Utah -- Canadas Marianne St. Gelais cruised to victory in the opening womens 500-metre race of the season at a short-track speedskating World Cup event Sunday. St. Gelais, from St-Felicien, Que., beat runner-up Italys Martina Valcepina and American Jessica Smith in the distance she is dominant in. St. Gelais won all five World Cup events in the 500 last season as well as the silver medal at the 2010 Olympics. Meanwhile, Charles Hamelin of Ste-Julie, Que., settled for silver in the mens 500 after being passed by Britains Jon Eley on the last lap. Hamelin said he lost his right edge when Germanys Robert Seifert fell in front of him. "I wasnt feeling good after that," said Hamelin, who won gold in the mens 1,500 on Saturday. "I was just trying to hold myself onto the track and not fall. He passed me and I had no move to pass him back." Hamelin was looking forward to the next World Cup short track races in Quebec next weekend. "Its going to be good for us to be back at home with our crowd," Hamelin said. "It will pump us to win a few more medals." In the relays, Canadas mens team of Charles Hamelin, Francois Hamelin, Yellowknifes Michael Gilday and Francois-Louis Tremblay of Alma, Que., beat Britain to win gold. The womens team of St. Gelais, Jessica Hewitt of Kamloops, B.C., Valerie Maltais of La Baie, Que., and Marie-Eve Drolet of Laterriere, Que settled for fourth. Katherine Reutter of the U.S. won her second 1,500 metres World Cup gold in two days, despite being able to train only since mid-September. "Most of my coaches are stunned that anything is working for me at the moment," Reutter said after holding off South Koreas Lee Eun-byul and Chinas Li Jianrou on Sunday to win in 2 minutes, 24.005 seconds. "But whats really working well for me is that Im trying to change the way I prepare for races. I used to prepare by absolutely knowing what every other girl was going to do and what I was going to do. And thats extremely exhausting." This weekend, coaches wanted the two-time Olympic medallist and defending 1,500 world champion simply to react and be a "mental" master. www.authenticchargersshop.com/Jeremiah-Attaochu-Chargers-Jersey. . "It was half the stress and a lot less energy and I really like it," said Reutter, who is doing well to move beyond back problems that cropped up last December. "That approach is going to get me on the top more consistently." Fellow American J.R. Celski, meanwhile, ran into the same roadblock Sunday as he did Saturday -- namely a pair of South Korean teammates. On Saturday, in his first World Cup race since taking more than a year off after the Vancouver Olympics, Celski was disqualified for impeding Noh Jinkyu in the mens 1,000. Sunday, he trailed Noh and South Korean Kwak Yoon-gy in the 1,500, and tried to pass on three consecutive laps but couldnt get through. Noh won in 2:14.238 and Kwak took silver, with Celski settling for the bronze. "They skated smart," Celski said. "Its unfortunate we didnt clean up the way we wanted to at home, but it just makes us hungry for the next time." He called the races "building blocks" as he learns what he has to do against each opponent. "They skated great today," he said about the South Koreans. "I wont take anything away from them." While St. Gelais made it look easy in the womens 500, Smith had to fight hard for her bronze. She advanced out of the quarter-finals by a skate then used a quick start in the semifinals to earn a spot in the final. "I was looking at the semis as my finals and I knew I had to nail my start," Smith said. While she is the oldest member of the womens team at 28, the weekend races showed some of the rising stars. American John-Henry Krueger is just 16, and was competing in his first World Cup. He won the mens 500 C final, and had given the U.S. men the lead in the relay final only to fall after making the successful pass. "It happens to everybody," Celski said about his younger teammate. "But Im really proud of John-Henry. Hes 16 years old, coming up. Hes going to be the next kid to look out for. He has great potential." ' ' '

ANAHEIM, Calif. Jace Amaro Womens Jersey . -- When Kendrys Morales and Jered Weaver hit career milestones on the same night, Weaver celebrated by writing "1000" on a baseball and holding it up for a few silly photos. Morales celebrated by stepping gracefully on Angel Stadiums home plate with his healed left ankle. Morales hit his first homer in nearly two years and drove in four runs, and Weaver recorded his 1,000th career strikeout while pitching five-hit ball into the seventh inning of the Los Angeles Angels 6-0 victory over the Oakland Athletics on Monday night. Morales three-run homer in the first inning landed in nearly the same spot as his fateful game-ending grand slam on May 29, 2010 -- right in front of the fake rock pile beyond the Big As centre field fence. That homer nearly wrecked his career when he jumped on home plate to celebrate it, severely breaking his ankle and keeping him out of baseball for nearly two full seasons. "It had been a long time," the Cuban slugger said through a translator. "I never lost faith. I knew I could do it. I just need to keep working and do it better." Morales touched home plate with his left foot before accepting congratulations from Howie Kendrick and Albert Pujols, who singled in front of him. Morales finally returned to the Angels midway through spring training and got off to a strong start before going 1 for 18 on last weeks road trip -- a slump erased by his three-hit performance against Oakland. "I was happy he got around the bases in one piece," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. Morales staked Weaver (2-0) to a healthy lead, and the AL Cy Young runner-up retired his first 11 batters. Weaver struck out six, rolling his career total into quadruple digits when he fanned Josh Reddick in the sixth inning. Weaver acknowledged the milestone grudgingly, saying hes "got a little bit more to go to catch the great ones." Still, he was grateful to do it in the presence of his father, who attends every home start -- and yells loudly enough for Jered to hear him on the mound. "Ive got them all in an Angel uniform, which is pretty great," Weaver said. ""Any time you can stop a little bad run and mix in a win, its good." Morales added an eighth-inning double to score Pujols, who went 2 for 4 with a double. Pujols still hasnt homered in 10 games with the Angels, but his new cleanup hitter provided plenty of power as Los Angeles opened a weeklong homestand with just its second win in six games. Reddick had two hits and Brandon McCarthy pitched into the eighth inning for the As, who have lost three straight. McCarthy (0-2) yielded 11 hits and five runs while failing in his fourth attempt to get his first win of the season. The As never climbed out of the hole he created with wayward pitches to Pujols and Morales in the first inning. "It was pretty indicative of the whole night," McCarthy said. "Every time I really wanted to throw something somewhere, I didnt throw it. I got away with a few of them, but not that one (to Morales). Just not enough quality pitches." Oakland was shut out for the third time in six games when Jemile Weeks struck out with the bases loaded in the ninth. The As have managed just 14 runs in their seven losses -- half of those in an 8-7 loss to Seattle. "We had some decent at-bats, better as we went along, and then the frustration mounts when you hit the ball right at people," Oakland manager Bob Melvin said. "Well keep going through it." Pujols has a hit in eight of his first 10 games with the Angels, but they still havent seen the fabled power they spent $240 million to acquire. Of course, Pujols had just one homer in his first 12 games in St. Louis last spring, and his season turned out splendidly. The Angels returned shortly before dawn from a 2-4 road trip that left them at 3-6 in their hugely anticipated season. After their fast start, they added three more runs in the eighth. After Morales RBI double, Chris Iannetta drew a bases-loaded walk from Andrew Carignan, who then allowed another run with a wild pitch. Los Angeles bullpen struggled mightily on the road, but three relievers capably finished up the shutout even after the Angels infield made back-to-back, two-out errors in the ninth. NOTES: Melvin said Carignan will be sent out Tuesday, and the As plan a second roster move as well. ... Oakland CF Yoenis Cespedes got his first day off of the season. ... Weaver is the eighth Angels pitcher with 1,000 strikeouts. He and his older brother, Jeff, became the sixth set of brothers in the big leagues with 1,000 strikeouts apiece. ... Carpenter Tweeted: "Stayin positive and prepared to work harder than ever to come back as soon as I can this season!" The 26-year-old right-hander appeared in 10 games for Chicago last season.CLEVELAND -- Before leaving frigid Progressive Field, Nick Swisher delivered a final message in his signature style. "Happy Bro-pening day everyone," he yelled. Swisher made the Indians home opener one to remember. Clevelands first baseman with the infectious attitude hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning, two batters after Yan Gomes connected for a solo shot, leading the Indians to a 7-2 home-opening win over the Minnesota Twins on Friday. Swishers homer off Mike Pelfrey (0-1) allowed the Indians to cap a day of pomp and pageantry as they celebrated Progressive Fields 20th anniversary. Before the sixth, the Indians had been shut out by Pelfrey and were in danger of disappointing a sellout crowd that stuck around following a 2-hour, 13-minute rain delay and plummeting temperatures. But Swisher, who added a run-scoring double in Clevelands four-run seventh, helped the Indians win their first home opener since 2008. "I was just so proud of the way the guys fought, man," Swisher said. "Maybe that will be the identity of this team -- the fact that were gonna fight. And regardless of the situation or the obstacle in front of us, were always gonna take that head-on." Indians reliever Josh Outman (1-0) recorded two outs after coming in for starter Danny Salazar in the sixth and got the win. Michael Brantley hit a two-run single in the seventh for the Indians, who were flat and hitless through four innings. But Gomes and Swisher woke the Indians up in the sixth when they finally figured out Pelfrey. "Guys were talking in the dugout and theres the fifth inning, were down 2-0, havent even gotten a hit at that point," Swisher said. "Guys were saying, Hey, we stick around long enough, were gonna get this. And thats a great feeling to have." Chris Colabello homered for the Twins, who jumped on Salazar for two runs in the first inning and were coasting toward a win when Pelfrey fell apart. "It kind of ruins the whole day, no matter how the first four innings went," Pelfrey said. "The game got away from me. It was kind of like a kick in the stomach." Gomes got things started in the sixth with his leadoff homer, a lined shot innto the centre-field bullpen to trim Minnesotas lead to 2-1. Ross Cockrell Blue Jersey. Lonnie Chisenhall walked and Nyjer Morgan sacrificed. Up came Swisher, who fell behind 0-1 before belting his homer, a towering fly pushed deeper into the right-field seats by the gusty winds. Swisher posed to watch the balls flight and then punctuated the homer by flipping his bat as he headed down the first-base line. After crossing home plate, the Ohio native saluted Clevelands crowd by raising his arms and making an "O" and then "H" an "I" and "O." It was typical Swisher -- animated and enthusiastic. "I think everybody gets a kick out of it," Indians manager Terry Francona said of Swishers theatrics. "Maybe not the other team. But I think our guys like it." Said Swisher: "Im going to be who I am." Before the game, Swisher complimented Clevelands front office for signing All-Star second baseman Jason Kipnis to a six-year, $52.5 million contract hours before the opener. "Bro, I think its awesome, so amazing," he said. "I feel that were starting to create an identity of who we are." That process began last season, when the Indians won their last 10 games to make the playoffs for the first time since 2007. They lost the wild-card game to Tampa Bay, but Cleveland entered this season with expectations to go even further this October. Until then, Swisher wants everyone to stay warm. "Everybody go home and get a hot cocoa," he said. NOTES: Cleveland has won seven straight over Minnesota. ... Kipnis signing means 16 of the 25 players on the Indians roster are signed through at least 2016. ... Twins manager Ron Gardenhire has a special fondness for Progressive Field, known as Jacobs Field for most of its history. "I love this place," he said. "Its a beautiful atmosphere with the city in the background and the dude banging on the drum out there. Not too many ballparks have fans sitting right next to your dugout in a glassed-in area offering you a beer." ... Former Indians manager Mike Hargrove threw out the ceremonial first pitch, skipping it to first-base coach Sandy Alomar, who played for Hargrove. ' ' '

MEMPHIS, Tenn. www.nflchiefsus.com/Womens-Dee-Ford-Authentic-Jersey/ . -- Zach Randolph had 23 points and 11 rebounds, six Memphis players reached double figures and the Grizzlies defeated the Golden State Warriors 108-90 on Saturday night. Randolph returned to action after leaving Wednesday nights game against New Orleans when his fiance went into labour. Zachary Jr. was born before the end of that game. Mike Conley added 20 points and six assists, Marc Gasol had 18 points and Memphis won its 10th straight over the Warriors. Mike Miller finished with 15 points, connecting on all but one of his five shots from beyond the 3-point arc. Stephen Curry, who returned after missing Friday nights loss at San Antonio with a bruised left ankle, led the Warriors with 22 points. Andre Iguodala had 19 points, hitting 8 of 10 shots. David Lee finished with 13 points and nine rebounds before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Klay Thompson scored 10 of his 12 points in the third quarter for the Warriors. Memphis dominated the inside game all night with a 54-18 advantage in the paint, outrebounding the Warriors 44-33. Memphis intent was evident early. The Grizzlies went to Randolph the first time down the floor and kept feeding him. Randolph had 10 points at the first break. Meanwhile, Curry was showing little effect of the ankle injury with nine early points. Randolph registered 14 points by the break to help Memphis to a 54-50 halftime lead. Curry had 17 for the Warriors on 5-for-10 from the field, including 3-for-6 on 3-pointers. Iguodala had 12, hitting all five of his shots in the half. The two teams stayed close early in the third period. Memphis connected on eight of its first nine shots in the period, but Thompson kept the Warriors in the game. Memphis continued to extend the lead, eventually reaching 14 and helping the Grizzlies carry a 90-77 lead into the final frame. Memphis eventually opened the advantage to 23 points in the fourth quarter, and about that point, Lee had fouled out, and Golden State coach Mark Jackson began emptying the bench. NOTES: Golden States last win overall in the series was Nov. 3, 2010. The Warriors have not won in Memphis since April 4, 2008, a span of nine straight losses. ... The "PGA Tour Latinoamerica" will start next year, featuring 11 tournaments that will be played in seven countries, most of them in South America but including Mexico and Puerto Rico. The tournaments will have 144-man fields consisting primarily of players from the region, although there likely will be some access for Americans who now play the mini-tours. The top players on the Latin American tour then will have access to the Nationwide Tour. "This expansion into Latin America, when combined with what the Nationwide Tour has been able to accomplish in the region in recent years, is part of the natural progression for golf which continues to grow globally," PGA Tour Commissioner Tim Finchem said. "We see this as an opportunity to help in the further development of elite players across the region." Tournaments are to be played next year from Septembeer through December in Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru.http://www.nflchiefsus.com/Womens-Phillip-Gaines-Authentic-Jersey/. The Nationwide Tour already has an event in Colombia, and will have one next year in Chile. The tour still has to determine how many players from Latin America could advance to the Nationwide Tour. A decision is expected before the Latin American tour starts play. Latin America already has produced players such as two-time major champion Angel Cabrera, Andres Romero and Jose Coceres of Argentina, Camilo Villegas of Colombia, Jhonattan Vegas of Venezuela and Carlos Franco of Paraguay, who has played in the Presidents Cup. Cabrera and Romero got their starts by going to Europe, while Franco first blossomed while playing in Japan. "This potential pathway to the higher levels of professional golf is something that is an improvement for the players in the region," said Henrique Lavie, the commissioner of the Tour de las Americas. Lavie will become executive director of the new Latin American tour, which hopes to grow to 14 events by 2013. ' ' '

NEW YORK -- Brian McCann was far from panic mode. http://www.nflchiefsus.com/Womens-Phillip-Gaines-Authentic-Jersey/ . He was hitting the ball well, and figured positive results would follow. Still, he enjoyed seeing his drives wind up in the seats instead of someones glove. McCann put an emphatic end to his season-opening slump, hitting his first two home runs for the New York Yankees to help beat John Lackey and the Boston Red Sox 7-4 Saturday. "I was pleased about my at-bats today," McCann said. Carlos Beltran, Alfonso Soriano and Kelly Johnson also connected as the Yankees scored all their runs on homers. Lackey was tagged for a career-high four home runs in 5 2-3 innings. New York has won two of three in a series that wraps up Sunday night. A.J. Pierzynski hit his first home run for the Red Sox. After striking out in the first inning and dropping his batting average to .158, McCann quickly reversed his fortunes. The seven-time All-Star who left Atlanta to sign an $85 million, five-year deal with the Yankees led off the fourth with a liner into the first row of the second deck in right field. McCann hurried around the bases, and fans were still cheering when Soriano followed with his third home run of the week. Beltran opened the sixth with a double and McCann homered to right-centre. It was the catchers 10th career multihomer game. "Ive been seeing the ball pretty well to be hitting in the hundreds," McCann said. As for any concerns about a slow start, he said, "I dont look at it that way." The Red Sox have been shifting on McCann during this series, moving an extra infielder onto the right side once they get a strike on him. Facing Lackey for the first time, McCann made moot any shift. "Hes hit the ball better than his numbers indicated," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "I was not really concerned about it. I know hes going to hit," he said. Girardi said he assumed the short right-field fence and the jet stream that carries the ball in that direction would benefit the lefty-hitting McCann. "It showed up today," Girardi said. Hiroki Kuroda (2-1) pitched into the seventh, and reliever Matt Thornton gave up Mike Carps two-run single that made it 6-4. With runners at the corners, Carp was caught stealing for the third out. Shawn Kelley pitched a perfect ninth for his second save. Lackey (2-1) threw plenty of strikes, but gave up 10 hits. He walked none, fanned six and missed a chance to get off to a 3-0 start for the first time in his career. Jacoby Ellsbury bunted for a two-out single in the first and Beltran homered on an 0-2 pitch right down the middle. Lackey was already stalking toward the plate to get a new ball from the umpire before Beltran reached second base. "I just left it over the plate. It wasnt a very good pitch, up in the zone. One of those Id like to have back, for sure," Lackey said. Johnson hit his third homer in the eighth. NOTES: Soriano had played only one inning in right field during his career -- in the 2003 World Series, in fact -- before starting there in this game. He made an error on the first chance he got, dropping a soft fly by Xander Bogaerts. ... David Ortiz has reached safely in 25 straight games against the Yankees, the longest active streak vs. New York. He got one hit, and is 11 for 20 lifetime facing Kuroda. ... Washington has played its last two games without the NHLs goal-scoring leader. The winger has 35 goals on the season and is battling a lower-body injury. TSNs John Lu reports that Ovechkin did extensive one-timers at end of his session at Saturdays morning skate. Lu reports that if Ovechkin feels good in the afternoon and during pre-game skate he should play. You can listen to the action on TSN Radio 690 beginning at 7pm et. Both clubs will be looking to snap losing streaks on Saturday night as each wraps up games on back-to-back nights. The Capitals are in the midst of a seven-game skid, dropping the last five in regulation. That has Washington now four points back of the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference. Montreal is on a less-damaging three-game slide and also has lost six of its past nine. That has left the Canadiens tied with the Toronto Maple Leafs for third place in the Atlantic Division and six points behind the co-leading Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning. Montreal is set to play two straight and six of its next seven at home after getting outscored 14-5 in losing the final three contests of a four-game road trip. The Canadiens capped the swing last night with a 4-1 setback in Detroit. Brendan Gallagher picked up the lone goal for the Canadiens, but Carey Price made just 22 saves in the setback. "Everyone is still confident in each other, its just a matter of getting to little details of the game and once you do that, the wins will start to come," Gallagher said Montreal is on iits longest losing streak since dropping a season-high four in a row from Nov. nflchiefsus.com/Womens-Dee-Ford-Authentic-Jersey/. 1-7 and saw Alexei Emelin depart in the latter stages of the third period on Friday night after getting hit by a shot. Things dont get any easier for the Habs in the opener of this residency as they have lost six in a row and nine of their last 12 at home to the Capitals. The Capitals were shut out 2-0 by Ottawa in their first game without Ovechkin on Tuesday, then dropped a 2-1 decision to the hosting New Jersey Devils to begin a five-game trip on Friday night. Jason Chimera provided the lone offense for the Capitals, but it didnt come until there was 9:50 left in the game. Washington has been held to one goal or fewer six times over its losing streak and is just 1-for-24 on the power play in the last eight games. Michael Neuvirth played well in defeat, making 28 saves, but the Caps failed to take advantage of the chances they had. "We had three short-handed breakaways and we didnt score," Caps coach Adam Oates lamented. "(Devils goaltender Cory Schneider) held them in and made the saves when he needed to. We made saves, too. You need execution, and the mistakes are not blatant, but its still the NHL and you get burned." Washington, on its longest losing streak since an 0-6-2 drought from Dec. 2-18, 2010, also lost center Mikhail Grabovski to a lower-body injury during the second period and he did not return. He will be a game-time decision against Montreal. The clubs split two meetings earlier this season in Washington, with the Caps winning their game in a shootout, and the Canadiens have lost nine of their last 11 overall in this series. ' ' '

PITTSBURGH -- Tanner Glass started every game for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the regular season, his grit providing the fourth line with a rugged presence to take some of the heat off superstars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. nfljetsus.com/Womens-Shaq-Evans-Authentic-Jersey/ . Playing time has proven more difficult in the post-season. Glass has watched six of Pittsburghs last seven games from the press box. Its an ego-testing vantage point for a player who helped the Vancouver Canucks to the Stanley Cup Final two years ago. Glass is healthy. Hes just not a part of coach Dan Bylsmas plan at the moment. Such is both the blessing and the curse of playing for the leagues most talent-laden roster. "You look at the lineup, you cant say, I should be in ahead of this guy or that guy," Glass said. "On this team, weve got such a deep team and such a great group of players, youve just got to stay ready." Hardly an issue these days for the Penguins, who have roared into the Eastern Conference finals against Boston on the strength of their stars and a supporting cast that is showing Pittsburgh is hardly just "The Crosby Show." The Penguins currently have eight players in the top 20 in post-season scoring through the first two rounds. Sure, Malkin and Crosby are doing their thing -- combining for 31 points through 11 games -- but Pittsburgh is also receiving instant offence from the plug-and-play guys toward the bottom of the depth chart. Forwards Tyler Kennedy, Joe Vitale, Beau Bennett, Jussi Jokinen and Brenden Morrow have joined Glass as healthy scratches. All five have found ways to respond when they see their number written on the dry erase board following a game-day skate. Kennedy came off the bench to spark a win in Game 5 of the first-round series with the New York Islanders and hasnt missed a game since. Vitale missed the first four games of the New York series but produced an assist for his first NHL playoff point in Game 5. Morrow didnt dress for a playoff game for the first time in his 13-year career in Game 4 against Ottawa, then responded with the opening goal in the series clincher two nights later. Bylsma downplays the suggestion that he has a sixth sense for when a role player is "due." Whenever he shakes things up, its more based on scouting and matchups than gut instinct. Of course, theres also the simple luxury of having guys battling for time on the fourth line who would be top-six forwards elsewhere. "We have good players that are not in the lineup," Bylsma said. "When we inserted (Vitale) into the first-round series, his skill set ... his speed was something we thought we needed, and he made an immediate impact when he came into that series." Still, it did little to ensure more playing time for Vitale. He sat out the final three games of the Ottawa series while Bylsma went with the likes of Jokinen, a better two-way player and an experienced faceoff man. Vitale didnt let the benching bother him. Maybe because it didnt feel like a benching. He understands Bylsmas job is to win the Stanley Cup, not to make Vitale feel better. Some games, that means Vitale will be in the lineup. Others, it means hell wear a nice suit and watch from the top of the arena. "Its just a different atmosphere," Vitale said. "Youre just pulling for the guy next to you. If Jussi goes in for me, Im sitting up above and I really want him to be at the very best he can be. When you win and youre in the locker room and youre not sweating, youre just as happy as the guys who are. Thats just the kind of environment it is right now." Jokinen and Morrow both came over in trade deadline deals meant to bolster the Penguins for a Cup run. Jokinen recorded 11 points in 10 games while filling in on the top line for Crosby at the end of the regular season as Crosby recovered from a broken jaw. Even that didnt stop Jokinen from sitting out five playoff games. While he may have been slowed by an injury, he also lost out to a hot hand in Vitale. When Vitale went cold, Jokinen found himself right back on the ice without so much as a word from Bylsma. "If you want to win Cups, thats how it has to be," Jokinen said. "We have 16 forwards and nine really good NHL defencemen on this team. Not everybody can play every night." The ones that do, however, have fueled a team that is 8-3 in the post-season while averaging 4.27 goals per game, a full goal ahead of everybody else. Sure, a potent power play helps. So does having Olympic gold medallists (Morrow), 30-goal scorers (Jokinen) and Cup winners (Kennedy) fighting for playing time. Dont expect Bylsma to change his methods anytime soon. While Kennedy and Morrow will likely be fixtures against the Bruins, the same cant be said for Jokinen, Vitale or Bennett. Bylsma will pick and choose as he goes along, trying to decipher what his team needs in a given moment. His touch has been golden so far. And the players say they can deal with the uncertainty if it leads to a championship. "Weve got a great group of extras who have gone in and out," Vitale said. "Theyve made plays when theyre in, and theyve kept guys up when theyre out. ... Weve really just removed all selfishness. This isnt an individual thing. This is a group thing." Shaq Evans Womens Jersey . "Atlantic is ours," read the shirts, delivered by the league that afternoon. Moments earlier they learned that, for the second time in franchise history, the Raptors will be crowned division champions, also earning home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. http://www.nfljetsus.com/Womens-Dexter-McDougle-Authentic-Jersey/ . Judges Clark Sammartino of the United States and Paul Thomas of Britain scored it 114-111 and 115-110 for Abraham, respectively, while American Michael Pernick judged it 113-112 in favour of the defending champion. With just two days until the NHL Trade Deadline, check out the latest trade-related reports and speculation from around the NHL beat. And follow TSN.ca right through Deadline Day for all the updates. Getting Creative The Pittsburgh Penguins will try their best to acquire Ryan Kesler from the Vancouver Canucks before the Trade Deadline. According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, Penguins GM Ray Shero will do everything he can to trade for Kesler by Wednesdays deadline. Dreger reports the Penguins arent the only team showing interest in the veteran centre, however, with the Detroit Red Wings, Columbus Blue Jackets, and New York Rangers also showing interest. Among other topics Dreger touched on was Rangers forward Ryan Callahans softening contract demands and the several veterans that could be on the move before Wednesdays deadline. Surprise Trade Piece Despite not playing a game since late November, Dallas Stars defenceman Stephane Robidas may still be a hot commodity at the Trade Deadline. Dreger tweeted that the veteran blueliner, who has been out with a broken leg, is garnering interest. Robidas, 37, could be back by mid-March, according to Dreger. Netminder Insurance Heading to the playoffs, the Minnesota Wild may be looking for some insurance for rookie goaltender Darcy Kuemper. TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com reports that Ryan Miller isnt likely to be the only goalie moved before the deadline, and New Jersey Devils veteran netminder Martin Brodeur could be a perfect fit for the Wild. The Wild need another goalie wiith Niklas Backstrom battling injuries and Josh Harding out indefinitely after his MS flared up, and Brodeur could be receptive to a move to Minnesota where his son plays high school hockey and good friend Zach Parise on the team. Authentic Jalen Saunders Jersey. Keeping Pace In light of the St. Louis Blues acquisition of goalie Ryan Miller, several of the Blues rivals in the Western Conference could make moves to keep pace with the team. According to Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal, teams like the Chcago Blackhawks, San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings, and Anaheim Ducks could be looking to add talent as well. Names floating around for those teams include Thomas Vanek, Matt Moulson, Tyler Myers, and Andrew MacDonald. Landing Spots Matheson also took a look at the Edmonton Oilers and where some of their tradable assets may wind up. Forwards Ales Hemsky and Ryan Smyth could be on the move while defenceman Nick Schultz may also be traded. Schultz is one of several defencemen Matheson reports the Boston Bruins are looking at, with others including MacDonald, Chris Phillips, and Andrej Meszaros. Pressing Forward Despite not being in a playoff spot as of Monday, the Ottawa Senators are expected to be buyers at the Trade Deadline. Senators owner Eugene Melnyk said during Sundays Heritage Classic that his team is definitely not going to be sellers this season. John Vogl of the Buffalo News reports that recently acquired forward Chris Stewart is a candidate to be flipped to the Senators before the deadline. ' ' '

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Pirates are one win away from hosting a playoff game. www.authenticbillsshop.com/Cyrus-Kouandjio-Bills-Jersey . Marlon Byrd had three hits and Pedro Alvarez hit a two-run homer high off the batters eye on Friday night, leading Pittsburgh over the Cincinnati Reds 4-1 in a series that will decide which one hosts the NL wild-card game. Both teams clinched post-season berths this week. The Pirates chances of winning the NL Central ended later Friday night when St. Louis beat the Cubs 7-0 to clinch the title. So now it comes down to the wild-card playoff next Tuesday night, and the Pirates are one win away from taking it to PNC Park. Nice way to start a decisive series. "Its huge," Byrd said. "We want to get that one-game playoff in Pittsburgh." Byrd and Alvarez provided all of the Pirates runs off Homer Bailey (11-12), who is struggling with his control heading into the post-season. A.J. Burnett (10-11) handled the Reds slumping lineup, allowing Todd Fraziers homer and five hits overall in eight innings. Jason Grilli gave up a hit in the ninth while getting his 33rd save in 35 chances. "It gives us some momentum, no doubt about that," manager Clint Hurdle said. "When you pretty much dominate through eight innings, it sparks everybody. Thats what we were looking for from him." Cincinnati has lost three straight and scored one run in the last 22 innings. "Once I got that (homer), I thought we might get a spark going, but we couldnt find it," Frazier said. The bruising, tight-as-could-be series has gone up and down the Ohio River all summer long with neither team able to get much advantage. The Pirates lead the series 9-8. Fourteen of the 17 games have been decided by three runs or less. Batters have been plunked 26 times during the season series, most in the majors this year. Its the biggest series between them since 1990, when the Reds beat Barry Bonds and the Pirates to reach the World Series, where they swept Oakland for their last title. The Pirates got the early advantage in this decisive series by beating Bailey, who threw the first of his two no-hitters at PNC Park on Sept. 28 last year. Since then, hes failed to beat the Pirates in four starts, going 0-3. Control has been a problem lately. He helped the Pirates load the bases in the third on a hit batter and a pair of walks, and Byrd -- an August trade acquisition from the Mets -- singled through the hole at shortstop for a 2-0 lead. Byrd doubled off the top of the wall in centre field to open the sixth, and Alvarez hit his 35th homer high off the batters eye for a 4-1 lead that ended Baileys outing. He gave up four runs, four hits, four walks, hit two batters and threw a wild pitch. "Any time you can get separation in the lead against a team like the Reds, its huge," Alvarez said. "Thats why we were all pretty excited. You can never have too much breathing room with those guys." Burnett handled Cincinnatis slumping lineup, retiring the last 10 batters he faced. Frazier hit his 19th homer off the screen on the left-field foul pole in the fourth, ending Cincinnatis streak of 16 scoreless innings. Burnett also beat the Reds and Bailey 4-2 last Saturday at PNC Park, allowing only four hits and fanning 12 in seven innings. He followed that outing by getting the Pirates off to the start they wanted at Great American Ball Park. "Anytime you come into somebody elses house in the first game, you want to do that," Burnett said. "It just happens to be an important part of the season." Joey Votto singled twice, surpassing Pete Roses club record of reaching base 311 times in a season. NOTES: The Reds wore their Los Rojos jerseys to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. ... Hurdle will change his starting pitcher on Sunday if nothings at stake. RH Gerrit Cole (10-7) is scheduled to go against RH Johnny Cueto (5-2). Hurdle would keep Cole available as insurance for the wild-card game on Tuesday. ... Alvarezs homer gave him 99 RBIs. ... Reds manager Dusty Baker doesnt plan to use LH Tony Cingrani in relief during the series. Cingrani is recovering from his second bout of back spasms. ... Bronson Arroyo (14-11) starts on Saturday against Pittsburghs Charlie Morton (7-4). Morton has given up only one run in his last three starts at Great American Ball Park, throwing two complete games. Today, their baseball playing sons were reportedly traded for each other. According to the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Cubs dealt minor league outfield Trevor Gretzky to the Angelss for catcher Matt Scioscia. authenticbillsshop.com/Cyrus-Kouandjio-Bills-Jersey. The Cubs have yet to confirm the deal. Gretzky, son of the "The Great One," has a .280 batting average with one home run in 250 at-bats as a 21-year-old. Scioscia, 25, is hitting .222 over three minor league seasons. ' ' '

GOODYEAR, Ariz. Cheap nfl Jerseys . -- Clevelands Jason Giambi will be sidelined for about three-to-four weeks with a broken rib in his right side. Giambi was hit by a pitch thrown by Edwin Jackson of the Chicago Cubs in the third inning of a March 7 game. X-rays at the time were negative, but Cleveland said Thursday the 43-year-old Giambi had felt increased discomfort over previous five days. "As he continued to show tenderness, we got him an MRI yesterday," manager Terry Francona said. "We treat the symptoms. He will be down for a number of days without activity, just getting treatment. Then when the symptoms are better, we can start getting him into activities. Then we can get him into baseball activities." The 2000 AL MVP, Giambi is a non-roster invitee to big league training camp. The designated hitter hopes to play in his 20th major league season and second with the Indians. Giambi has been hit by 179 pitches during the regular season, 11th on the career list. "I kind of knew. It was a cutter in it hit me just under the pad," said Giambi, who picked the ball up and flipped the it to Jackson. "I didnt want him to think it hurt." Giambi probably will not make the opening-day roster, but the Indians are hoping he will rebound and be in position to join the big league team later. "It is why you try to evaluate everybody, because if you need a plan B or a plan C, you have it," Francona said. Giambi is optimistic he will be back soon. "Its not tragic. At least its not displaced," he said. "The doctors told me it is going to be sore and we have to get the trauma down. Guys play with this all the time. Im not discouraged. Its really small, but with the trauma it wont let me swing right now. Its the human body protecting itself." Nyjer Morgan and Jeff Francoeur also are in camp on minor league contracts. Morgan strained his left calf Wednesday. "The trainers say day to day," Francona explained. "We have to protect him from himself. Hes kind of on a mission here if not to show us, to show the world hes back. He plays so hard. He has to pass some tests on the medical side. Thats not to hinder him. Thats to protect him." Right-hander J.C. Ramirez broke his left thumb and sprained a ligament during a "B" game on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox and will be sidelined for eight-to-10 weeks. He is scheduled for surgery Monday with Dr. Thomas Graham at the Cleveland Clinic. wholesale nfl jerseys . 1 team in the FIFA rankings, and the host nation will kick off as No. 3. Weber scored twice and Colton Sissons and Calle Jarnkrok each scored their first NHL goals to lead the Nashville Predators to a 6-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night. Colin Wilson and Eric Nystrom also scored for Nashville, winners of three of four. Rasmus Ristolainen scored for Buffalo, which has lost 10 of its last 11 games. The Predators got off to a fast start, scoring four goals in the first, and ended a six-game home losing streak. "Weve talked about that the few games that we have to play better at home," Weber said. "Weve always been a team in the past that takes pride in winning at home and we havent done that lately. We need to change that." Sissons scored the games first goal at 6:26 of the opening period. From the left circle, Rich Clune sent a backhand on net. Buffalos Matt Hackett turned it aside, but Sissons pounced on the rebound at the left of the net and slammed it home for his first career NHL goal. "I cant really describe it," Sissons said. "Im on top of the world right now. Ive been working pretty hard and fortunately got a bounce there to get my first." Wilson struck at 11:44 of the first when he picked up a loose puck in the slot and beat Hackett for his eighth of the season. Just 9 seconds later, Jarnkrok beat Hackett with a snap shot from the slot to record his first career NHL goal. "Jarnkrok was goood," Nashville coach Barry Trotz said. wholesale jerseys. "Thats a goal-scorers goal. Hes very detailed. I love the way he plays. He plays on the right side of the puck every time." Weber completed Nashvilles first period barrage with a one-timer from the top of the right faceoff circle while the Predators had a 5-on-3 advantage. "Guys came out, and they didnt come out to play that first period," Buffalo coach Ted Nolan said. "In order to rebuild and retool, you rebuild and retool with the right people." Hackett was removed following the first period and replaced by Nathan Lieuwen. Ristolainen got Buffalo on the board at 2:06 of the second when he beat Carter Hutton with a slap shot from above the right circle. It was the rookies second career goal. "It was a goal, but a horrible hockey game," Ristolainen said. He was recalled earlier Thursday from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis due to an injury to Tyler Myers. Weber struck again at 6:19 of the first with another slap shot from the top of the right circle. It was the captains 20th goal of the season, the second time in his career that he has reached that mark. NOTES: Wilsons goal was his first since Dec. 30, a stretch of 33 games . Twelve Predators recorded a point in the first period . Buffalo C Brian Flynn assisted on Ristolainens goal. He has assists in two of his last three games . BEIJING -- Canadas Kevin Koe won both of his games at the world mens curling championship on Monday to move into sole possession of second place in the round-robin standings. Khalil Mack Kids Jersey . Koe started the day with a 9-1 blowout victory over Russias Evgeny Arkhipov at Capital Indoor Stadium and then came back for a 10-6 win over Jiri Snitil of the Czech Republic in the late draw. "For sure, you have to pull some games out," said Koe. "We werent struggling as bad (as on Sunday). The sheet was a lot better than yesterday, but no excuses. The Czechs were playing really well and making some big shots. "I was proud of the guys. We really stayed in there, tried to stay positive and keep it close." Koe, who suffered his only loss to Japans Yusuke Morozumi on Sunday morning, improved to 4-1 after eight draws. Norways Thomas Ulsrud was the lone undefeated team at 5-0. Germany, Japan, Sweden and Switzerland were tied for third place at 3-2 in the 12-team round-robin standings. The Calgary-based team of Koe, lead Nolan Thiessen, second Carter Rycroft and third Pat Simmons shot 96 per cent as a team against Russia. Thiessen and Rycroft both scored perfect games. "That felt way better," said Rycroft. "We threw some stinkers yesterday, and we were lucky to get away with 1-1 (on the day). Finally today we felt like we got a bit of a handle on things. "We were throwing them properly. Still missing a few, but at least were throwing them with conviction. The results? You cant worry about them too much because you still get caught on certain spots." In the late game, Snitil controlled the early ends and built a 6-3 lead. Koe scored a pair in the sixth end and pulled even with a steal in the eighth on a nice hit and roll. The Canadians followed up with arguably their finest end of the tournament, making eight perfect shots in the ninth end. Koe, sitting four and guaranteed a steal, forced Snitil to attempt a wide outturn draw to bite the outside of the four-foot to limit the damage. However, the Czech rock caught debris outside of the house and ground to a halt, giving the Canadians a steal of four and ending the game. "That ninth end was real unfortunate for them, but we were stealing one at worst," Koe said. "We would have been one up coming home and it would have been anybodys ball game, but this was a big one." Even as the Czechs built their lead through five ends, Koe said his teammates never lost their focus. "Weve talked with our coaches about it off the ice," he said. "If were going to lose, lets at least keep battling and stay positive. We did that very well in that game. Its easy to get frustrated after the first few ends, but we hung in there and Im really proud of the guys for battling that hard." Canada will play the United States and Norway on Tuesday. Round-robin play continues through Thursday. The playoffs begin Friday and the medal games are scheduled for Sunday. Koe won gold in 2010 at his only previous appearance at this event. Nearly two decades after he burst onto the scene with his first victory, Gordon keeps taking checkered flags, storming to the lead in the final laps at Kansas Speedway on Saturday night for his first victory of the season and 89th overall in NASCARs top series. The 42-year-old Gordon held off a hard-charging Kevin Harvick on the final lap to move into the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship field. Gordon won for the first time since October at Martinsville and became the ninth driver to win in the first 11 races this season. He entered the race with the points lead, but exclaimed a weight was lifted off his shoulders as he crossed the finish line for his third Kansas victory. "Im just so proud of (the 24 team). They have been giving me the best race cars all year long," Gordon said. "I have been having so much fun. Im going to be 43 this year and I feel like Im 25 again. That is the way they make me feel." Kasey Kahne was third, followed by Joey Logano and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Danica Patrick was seventh for her best career Cup finish. Gordon built his points lead on the strength of four top-fives and seven top-10s in the first 10 races -- including second-place finishes at Texas and Richmond -- but he knew how much one win would ease pressure on his Hendrick Motorsports team. He got it under the lights at Kansas. "This is so sweet," he said. "What a huge weight lifted off this teams shoulders. We needed to get to Victory Lane." Gordon is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his first career Cup victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the prestigious Coca-Cola 600. He will go for his fourth Coca-Cola 600 victory May 25. At Daytona this year, Gordon insisted he was serious about considering retirement with a fifth championship. He looks every bit a title contender -- but said he feels like he could race until 50 if his cars are this stout. "The whole retirement thing I think is thrown out too much," he said. "I know Im somewhat to blame for that." After the start of the race was delayed 35 minutes by rain, the first Sprint Cup night race at Kansas soon left drivers in the dark after the lights went out on the backstretch. NASCAR polled drivers if they wanted to continue and they were good to go, with Kurt Busch and Carl Edwards among the many who said thhe track was bright enough to race. Authentic Khalil Mack Jersey. Harvick led the final 36 laps in his October win and led the first 41 on Saturday before briefly falling into the middle of the pack. Harvick worked his way to the front in the No. 4 Chevrolet and opened a commanding lead over Gordon and Logano. He led a race-high 119 laps in the 400-mile race -- small consolation once Gordon grabbed the lead with eight to go. With two wins already, Harvick has been a force in his first season at Stewart-Haas Racing, but his dominant Chevrolet ran out of gas on his last pit stop and lost time that he couldnt recover. "I should have been paying attention to my pit road lights and should have got off pit road better," he said. "I made a mistake at the end and it cost us a chance to stay out in front of the 24." Patrick had her best run of the season, spending most of the race nestled inside the top 10, and brought a needed jolt of electricity when she passed teammate Tony Stewart and Earnhardt to move into third with 95 laps left. Patrick hadnt finished better this season than 14th at Fontana and her lone top-10 in the Cup series was an eighth-place finish in the 2013 Daytona 500. She was shuffled back on a restart, costing her a top five. Patrick beamed in the garage after the kind of finish shed been striving for since her dazzling performance at Daytona more than a year ago. Crew chief Tony Gibson told her, "Chicks rule, huh?" "I know that we havent had the best of times, but we work hard for it," Patrick said. "This is the kind of stuff that materializes in wins. Weve just got to keep hanging around and doing what were doing. Im just proud of everyone for working really hard and believing in me." Sara Christians fifth-place finish in a 1949 race remains the best for a female driver in NASCARs top series. Jamie McMurray and David Gilliland both had their cars erupt in flames in separate accidents. Gilliland was slow to exit his No. 38 Ford and gingerly walked away from the smouldering wreckage. He was checked out and released from the infield care centre. "It was the hardest hit Ive had in a long time," he said. McMurray had a solid run derailed when he smacked the wall and the back of his No. 1 Chevrolet caught fire. "I heard a small pop, and then just lost all the steering and got into the fence," he said. Manchester City and Chelsea are set to do battle at the Etihad on Monday, a monumental clash that will pit the first-place Citizens against the third-place Blues.wholesale jerseys . Watch Chelsea vs. Manchester City live on TSN2 at 3pm et/Noon pt. City managed to move to the top of the Premier League table by capitalizing on Arsenals 2-2 draw with Southampton on Tuesday, cruising to a 5-1 demolition of Tottenham at White Hart Lane the following day. The Citizens have been in cruise control over the past couple of months, winning its last eight Premier League contests. After suffering defeat at Sunderland on Nov. 10, City has gone on to take a total of 34 points from 12 games. But even in such a rich vein of form, the Citizens only find themselves one point clear of Arsenal at the Premier League summit, and manager Manuel Pellegrini does not think his side deserves to be labeled the title favorites. "I think its too soon to be the favorites - [there are] a lot of matches to play," Pellegrini told the clubs official website after Wednesday defeat of Spurs. "If we continue to play the way we are, we will have chances to win but its early." City boasts an unblemished home record through 11 league matches at the Etihad this term, but Chelsea will be quite motivated to end that spell Monday. Not only did the Blues drop points for the first time in five Premier League outings with a scoreless draw against West Ham on Wednesday, but they can take confidence from their 2-1 win over City at Stamford Bridge in October. Chelsea can lean on its stout defense, which has leaked just three goals in the clubs last eight matches. And with Sergio Aguero, Citys main scoring threat, looking doubtful for Mondays clash, the Blues certainly have a solid opportunity to pick up some valuable road points. Building to Mondays main course is one of Englands fiercest rivalries, taking place at St. James Park in Saturdays early fixture. Newcastle suffered a 2-1 loss at the Stadium of Light earlier in the season, but the Magpies will be hoping to reverse the result when they play host to Sunderland in the latest installment of the Tyne-Wear derby. Manchester United has been rejuvenated by the arrival of Juan Mata, who helped lead the club to a 2-0 defeat of Cardiff City on Tuesday. The Red Devils have taken just two wins from their last four Premier League outings, but the club is hopeful that Mata can bring two successive wins with maximum points at Stoke City on Saturday. Danny Rose, who was harshly sent off in Tottenhams horrific defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday, had his red card rescinded by the English Football Association this week and is available for selection this weekend. Spurs will head to the KC Stadium on Saturday to face a Hull City side that is hoping to snap a four-game slide. Also on Saturday, Fulham will look to avoid a fourth straight defeat when it welcomes Southampton to Craven Cottage, Cardiff City will aim to snap a four- game losing streak when it hosts Norwich City, Aston Villa will attempt to build upon its narrow midweek win with a vital victory over Everton at Goodison Park and West Ham United squares off with Swansea City at Upton Park. On Sunday, Arsenal will look to apply some additional pressure on Chelsea and City by taking three points from its contest with Crystal Palace at the Emirates, and Liverpool heads to the Hawthorns to do battle with West Bromwich Albion. cheap jerseys from china . MIAMI -- Randy Wolf pitched six innings Monday night for his first victory since 2012, and the Miami Marlins beat Tampa Bay 3-1, sending the Rays to their seventh consecutive loss. authenticchargersshop.com/Chris-Watt-Chargers-Jersey . The 37-year-old Wolf, making a comeback from the second Tommy John surgery of his career, allowed three hits and one run. He struck out seven, walked one and won for the first time since he pitched Baltimore past Tampa Bay on Sept. 13, 2012. The Rays fell to 0-7 on their eight-game trip. Theyre 12 games below .500 for the first time since 2007, and their record (23-35) is the worst in the American League. Four Miami relievers completed the six-hitter, and Steve Cishek pitched a perfect ninth for his 12th save in 13 chances. The Marlins snapped a streak of four consecutive home losses as they started a four-game home-and-home series against their intrastate rivals. The Rays went 0 for 5 with runners in scoring position. Theyve scored six runs in their past five games. Alex Cobb (1-3) paid dearly for a rocky start. The Marlins scored three times in the first, when their first four batters reached. Casey McGehee hit a two-run single, and a bases-loaded double play scored another run. Cobb then settled down and shut out Miami over the next five innings, but the Rays couldnt rally. Tampa Bay starters remained winless in the past 15 games, the teams longest such streak since 2006. Wolf (1-1) didnt pitch in 2013 and was making his second start of this year. His fastball registered only in the upper 80s (mph), but he had command of his breaking pitches and struck out five of the first eight batters he faced. The Rays finally broke through in the fifth on an RBI double by Desmond Jennings, but Wolf retired the next three hitters. Wolf was signed as a free agent last month after ace Jose Fernandez was sidelined by a season-ending elbow injury. The left-hander improved his career record to 133-118. NOTES: Rays SS Yunel Escobar (quad) was back in the lineup after missing two starts. ... Tampa Bay RF Wil Myers (wrist), who went on the disabled list Sunday, is awaiting further test results but is expected to be sidelined three to six weeks, the team said. ... Rays RHP Jeremy Hellickson (elbow surgery) threw 50 pitches in a simulated game in Port Charlotte and said he felt good. Henderson Alvarez (2-3, 2.97 ERA) is scheduled to start Tuesday for Miami against Chris Archer (3-2, 4.00). Jason Verrett Womens Jersey . The list announced by the league Thursday includes six other Hall of Famers: the Bears Mike Singletary, Giants Harry Carson, Packers James Lofton, Raiders Willie Brown, Dolphins Larry Little and Chiefs Curley Culp. American international Michael Bradley is pulling the strings in midfield.CHICAGO -- Chris Chelios had a simple reason why he not only survived 26 seasons in the NHL, but earned a spot in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame. "Ive been surrounded by great players my whole career," Chelios said during the induction ceremony Monday night. "But the most enjoyment I ever had was seeing the enjoyment of my friends and family when I played. "I hope I entertained you," Chelios said. "I couldnt skate any more. I had to hang em up." Chelios was one of five American hockey notables inducted Monday. He was joined by fellow defenceman Gary Suter, with whom he played at the University of Wisconsin and with the Chicago Blackhawks, forward Keith Tkachuk, Philadelphia Flyers owner Ed Snider and broadcaster Mike Emrick. Chelios, a three-time Norris Trophy winner who grew up in the Chicago suburb of Evergreen Park, said his greatest moment in the game, aside from winning the Stanley Cup for the first of three times, was taking the ice to play for the gold medal in the 1992 Olympics in Salt Lake City. "You wanted to win the gold medal, but there was no disappointment (when Canada won)," Chelios said. "It was the best hockey Ive ever been involved in." Tkachuk, who played for Winnipeg, Phoenix, St. Louis and Atlanta, had a vivid memory of one encounter with Chelios. "Cheli and I tangled at Chicago Stadium, got me in a headlock and I couldnt breathe," Tkachuk said, grinning. "I was down to my last breath. He was strong for a little guy." Chelios remembered Tkachuk "turning colours. I let him go right at the last second, but I could have made him pass out easy if I wanted to. And he knew it." They were loyal teammates on Olympic squads and during the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, in which the U.S. came back from losing the first game to sweep the last two games on Canadian ice. Suter was also on that team, while Snider hosted the first game in the Wells Fargo Center, the Flyers then-new building, and Emrick called the contests on American television. "I didnt expect to hear my name associated witth a Hall of Fame unless it involved penalty minutes or eating," Tkachuk told the gathering of about 450. Chris Watt Blue Jersey. "This means everything to me. Im only retired for two years, and to go in with this class is amazing." Tkachuk scored 538 goals in 19 NHL seasons, but counted the World Cup victory as his top achievement. "That generated great momentum, not only for me, but for U.S. hockey in general," Tkachuk said. Suters 17-year pro career opened in Calgary, where he was named the NHLs top rookie in 1985-86, and went through Chicago and San Jose. Like Chelios and Tkachuk, he was inspired by the American hockey victory in the 1980 Olympics. "That was so unexpected, but in 1996 (at the World Cup), we were a good solid team, among the top four in the world," Suter said. "I think winning that had a similar effect to 1980 on kids, and American hockey has continued to get stronger." Sniders stewardship of the Flyers started with the teams inception in 1966. He helped grow a small business into a corporation that became a unit of Comcast, but said he was prouder of his foundations taking over the hockey rinks in Philadelphias park system and creating educational programs associated with hockey for disadvantaged youths to flourish. "We have a 94 per cent graduation rate, compared to 54 per cent for the city," Snider said. "We used hockey as the hook. Its the only thing Ive put my name on. Its my legacy. It will last forever." Emricks dream of being an NHL broadcaster started in the corner of the rink in Fort Wayne, Ind., where he called minor-league games into a tape recorder for practice. Decades later, the voice of 13 Stanley Cup Finals, and the lead announcer for hockey on NBC and Versus, still has boyish enthusiasm. "I wanted to be a baseball announcer until I went to a game at the Fort Wayne Coliseum," Emrick said of a 1960 visit. "I get in free, I still get a good seat for the game, and I still like doing that. So until my bosses dont want me doing that, or Im unhappy with my work, Ill do it." ' ' '

KAMLOOPS, B. www.authenticchargersshop.com/Jeremiah-Attaochu-Chargers-Jersey .C. -- B.C. Lions head coach Mike Benevides says his team has a better handle on what makes Khalif Mitchell tick this time around. The hulking defensive tackle helped the Lions win the 2011 Grey Cup, however a series of incidents on an off the field the following season precipitated a trade to the Toronto Argonauts prior to the 2013 campaign. The mercurial Mitchell rebounded in Toronto and asked for his release from the Argos to pursue NFL opportunities this winter, but when those failed to materialized the Lions surprised the rest of the CFL by bringing him back into the fold. "I think hes a person thats matured. Hes a person thats experienced some things," Benevides said at training camp this week. "The biggest thing I see is everybody else understanding who he is. "I think hes very conscious of whats occurring and whats going on around him. What people need to know is he is not a bad person. Hes a good person." Benevides would know. He was the Lions defensive co-ordinator back in 2011 when Mitchell had his best season, compiling 33 tackles and six sacks. "I see everybody understanding who he is and sometimes you have a misconception or you dont understand someone and that sometimes creates issues," said Benevides. "Khalif is a very charismatic guy, hes a very passionate guy. He enjoys the game. His teammates and his team and the guys around him are very important to him." But it was those teammates who wanted him out the door after the six-foot-six, 315-pound Mitchell made headlines for all the wrong reasons in 2012. The league suspended him two games for violently hyperextending the arm of an opponent that July before fining him an unspecified amount for making multiple throat-slashing gestures in another game. Mitchell was then fined and suspended again for violating the CFLs social media policy after using a racial slur on Twitter. Benevides said the teams leadership group was consulted when the idea to was first floated to bring Mitchell back, and it was agreed that all parties could move on and work towards winning the Grey Cup, which the Lions host in November. "It was a long process and discussion. There was a lot of guys that I spoke to and they were the ones who said Bring him back in the room," said Benevides. "At the end of the day we all have a job to do and thats win." But while his coach has seen growth and maturity, the 29-year-old Mitchell emphasized hes still the same person in many ways. "I havent changed who I am. Even when I came back to B.C. I was like Im going to be Khalif and they were like We understand that," said Mitchell, referring to himself in the third person. "I think a lot of people dont understand who Khalif is because a lot of people only see me in football or from the negative things that Ive produced in the media." Lions running back Andrew Harris expressed delight when Mitchell was traded last year, tweeting "Good riddance!!!!" after the deal with the Argos was announced. The Winnipeg native said hes willing to move on because of Mitchells unique skill set and a hope that he has learned from his mistakes. "Khalif is a beast. Hes a guy that can help us win football games, and thats the most important things," said Harris. "All the off-field stuff that happened in the past, its just maturing from that now. Things happen with people and youve just got to move on from that and trust that there will be better judgement in the future. "Theres definitely no animosity between us. Were teammates now and were just working together for the one goal and thats the Grey Cup." Lions linebacker Solomon Elimimian added that there werent any awkward conversations when Mitchell walked back into the locker-room. "I think the guys all know Khalif, and thats the biggest thing for us," said Elimimian. "We know that hes a good guy. We know he means well. We know that hes a very bright man. But also the thing is hes a great football player and thats what we need in the locker-room and on the field." Lions defensive back Ryan Phillips said it was made clear to Mitchell upon his return that he can be himself as long as it doesnt hurt the team. "Just understand that theres consequences to mistakes," said Phillips. "Hes grown up from that. We know the dominant player he can be as long as hes focused on football." Theres no doubt that Mitchell will help an already solid defence get better. The Lions surrendered the second fewest rushing yards per game (94.4) in 2013, but allowed the second most rushing touchdowns (17) and recorded the third fewest sacks (45). Mitchell put the drama from 2012 behind him and nearly matched his 2011 numbers while playing with Toronto last season, registering 32 tackles and five sacks. "In order to be successful in our division, youve got to be very good against the run. Youve got to be big inside," said Benevides. "Hes another big, effective body that can have an impact in the interior line of scrimmage, and good teams win at the line of scrimmage." Mitchell said he never expected to return to the West Coast after his messy divorce with the Lions last year, but is ready to do what he does best -- stop the run and get after the quarterback. "I definitely wasnt expecting to come back. Im sure when they told me Good riddance and Bye they werent expecting me to come back either," he said. "Im here now and regardless of what the situation was, at the end of the day weve got to win a championship." authenticchargersshop.com/Jason-Verrett-Chargers-Jersey . But the drama wasnt done. Less than three weeks after Pettine took the job, the Browns announced the dismissal of chief executive officer Joe Banner and general manager Michael Lombardi, Banner after a transition and Lombardi immediately. www.authenticchargersshop.com/Chris-Watt-Chargers-Jersey . -- Jimmy Walkers first PGA Tour trophy came with a special gift tucked inside. The Winnipeg Goldeyes first no-hitter in franchise history was a team effort Wednesday night. Five Goldeyes (13-7) relievers combined to throw a no-hitter in a 3-0 victory over the Sioux Falls Canaries in the second game of a doubleheader at Sioux Falls Stadium before 3,268 spectators. "I am going to be smiling for the rest of the night, thats for sure," Goldeyes pitching coach Jamie Vermilyea said on the Jewel 101 post-game show. "They filled up the strike zone. They had a couple walks, but after that they got quick outs." Winnipeg also won the first game 7-1 to sweep the doubleheader and move back into a tie for first place in the North Division. Gabe Aguilar pitched 2 1/3 innings to start the game before handing the ball over to Kaohi Downing, who went 2 2/3 innings hitless innings. From there, Taylor Sewitt pitched a third of an inning, Brendan Lafferty got the last two outs of the sixth inning and first out of the seventh inning and Kyle Bellamy was on the bump for the final two outs of the game. Winnipeg scored a run in the first inning when Tyler Kuhn singled and eventually scored on a Luis Alen double. The Goldeyes added two more runs an inning later, as Casey Haerther and Kuhn had RBI singles. From there, Winnipegs unhittable pitching staff took over. "We just kept on giving the ball to the next guy and they just kept on getting the job done," Vermilyea said. One of the unsung heroes in the no-no wass catcher Luis Alen, who caught 14 innings between the two games. www.authenticchargersshop.com/Ryan-Carrethers-Chargers-Jersey. ."Thats tough to do as a catcher," Vermilyea said. "Thats a long day behind the plate. "From the first game, we had a good game play against (Sioux Falls) and he kept throwing down the right fingers."Downing picked up the win, while Bellamy earned the save. Sioux Falls starter Joe Bircher posted a quality start, but suffered the loss. In the first game, Goldeyes starting pitcher Chris Salamida pitched a complete game, allowing just one run in seven innings of work to get the win. It was the first complete game by a Goldeyes pitcher this season and kept the bullpen fresh for the second game. "Sal set (the no-hitter) up by going seven innings and pitching the entire game," said Vermilyea, who pitched a perfect game in Double-A during his playing career. "It allowed us to have our full bullpen." Winnipeg scored once in the first and fourth, twice in the fifth and broke the game open with three runs in the sixth, as Luis Alen singled in a pair of runs and Donnie Webb followed with an RBI single. Webb led Winnipeg at the plate with two hits and two RBI. Salamidas record improved to 2-2 with the win, while Kyle Vazquez took the loss. The Goldeyes will be out to sweep the four-game series tomorrow night. Southpaw Nick Hernandez (0-0, 7.90) will start for Winnipeg against former Goldeye Ben Moore (1-0, 3.62). ' ' '

CARROLL GOES FOR THIRD PLATE WITH AMIS HOLIDAY Trainer Josie Carroll, who has already won two Queens Plates (Edenwold in 2006, Inglorious in 2011), will try for a third one on Sunday with Ivan Dalos homebred Amis Holiday. shopjerseysbroncos.com/Womens-Michael-Schofield-Authentic-Jersey/ . Aboard will be Luis Contreras, who teamed with Carroll to win not only the Plate, but the Woodbine Oaks with the filly Inglorious. Amis Holiday, a son of Harlans Holiday-Victorious Ami, has only started twice this year, finishing a good fourth to Mr. Speaker in the Grade 3 Lexington at Keeneland on April 19, before a troubled third, just a neck behind the disqualified winner and Plate rival Asserting Bear, in the Marine Stakes at Woodbine on May 25. "It was a great effort," said Carroll, about the Marine.   "But it was a disappointing race because the horse didnt get a clean trip and show what he could do.  That was a little troubling." About the Lexington, "He ran a tremendous race.  For the amount of time hed been off, I was very impressed with what he did." Last year, Amis Holiday broke his maiden at first asking and then stepped up to stakes company and promptly won the Grade 3 Grey.  That effort made him the 3-5 choice to win the rich Coronation Futurity but he endured a difficult trip, ending up fifth before being disqualified.  Since the Marine, Amis Holiday has been busy with four solid works, including a sharp five furlong breeze in 59 3/5 seconds last Sunday.   "Hes just a very nice, very easy horse to train.  He does everything you ask him to." About the Plate, Carroll, who is also the only female conditioner to ever win the race, added, "Its a big field and this horse has already had a couple of troubled trips.  He just really needs a clean trip.   Hes coming up to the race in really good order.   Hes bred to go a distance.  Everythings right about him.  Now we just have to see if things work out on the day." ONE DESTINY ON EDGE, BUT SET FOR RACE One Destiny is still touch and go to make the final field for Sundays Queens Plate, but hes been training like hes ready to run a career race. The son of Dance to Destiny is currently ranked 16th on a list of 16 horses (by purse earnings) expected to start in the 155th edition of the 1 ¼-mile event.  If two more horses do enter, One Destiny could be on the outside looking in as a maximum of 17 are allowed in the gate for the race. Trainer Alec Fehr, who also owns a piece of the Ontario-bred with Winston Penny, knows the potential storyline. "Are we going to get in? Were kind of on the edge, arent we?" he wondered. The answer to the first question will be answered definitively on Thursday morning at the breakfast draw for the race. But on Monday, Fehr spoke assuredly about the current condition of the horse, who has one win in three 2014 starts. "Hes doing really fine," Fehr said. "He had a really nice work (on Sunday; a bullet five furlongs in :59, breezing). Hes come out of the work in good order and very sharp today. All is well." Fehr says his tactical speed will serve the horse well.  "If you look at his races, he really didnt get to run in any of his three races. Hes got any kind of speed. He can be a six-furlong horse or a mile and a quarter horse. He can be wherever in a race, but Id like to be close to the front (in the Plate)." Justin Stein, who won the 2012 Queens Plate aboard Strait of Dover, gets the call on Sunday. RHYTHM BLUES LOOKS TO ORCHESTRATE PLATE WIN NO. 3 FOR GONZALEZ Will this years edition of the Queens Plate be the same old song for two-time winning trainer Nick Gonzalez? In 2010, it was Big Red Mike who stepped up to the mike for Gonzalez and hit No. 1 on the Plate chart. Last year, it was Midnight Aria who had the veteran horseman humming a winning Queens Plate tune. This year, hes hoping Rhythm Blues will take centre stage in front of a packed house in the "Gallop for the Guineas." "My one thought all along is that he would get better the more he raced," said Gonzalez, of the chestnut son of Tale of the Cat. "His speed figures have gone up each time. I thought he ran a credible race in the Plate Trial (Rhythm Blues was fourth to We Miss Artie in the 1 1/8-mile Plate prep on June 15). He can still get better and hopefully, he is at his best on the big day." Sporting a record of one win, one second and two thirds from eight starts, the Hillsbrook Farms silk-bearer has raced at Delaware, Parx, Gulfstream Park and Keeneland, with his past two efforts coming at Woodbine. "Hes a stalker, not a speed horse," offered Gonzalez. "I dont see him being too far out of it. He isnt afraid to be in the mix, inside, outside, wherever. Weve had good fortune on two occasions to win this race. Hopefully, we can have some luck again this time." Most important, perhaps, it went off without a hitch. Organizers poked a little fun at the now-infamous opening ceremony gaffe that saw only four out of five snowflakes open up into rings, leaving the Olympics logo one ring short. They opted for human rings this time, the last one opening several seconds after the first four on the floor of the stadium. It echoed the hijinks from Vancouvers closing ceremony four years ago, when a leg of the cauldron that failed to come up during the opening ceremony was finally raised into place. Sundays ceremony at Fisht Olympic Stadium included a handoff from Sochi to Pyeongchang, South Korea, host of the 2018 Winter Games. Near the end, the cauldron that was lit 16 days earlier by Russian Olympic greats Vladislav Tretiak and Irina Rodnina was extinguished after one of the games mascots, an animatronic bear, blew out a flame in the center of the stadium, a single tear dripping from its left eye. Earlier, after a childrens choir conducted by Valery Gergiev sung the Russian national anthem, flag bearers for each country entered the stadium together rather than country by country like in the opening ceremony. The athletes who stuck around for the festivities also came in together, as is customary for the closing ceremony. American ice hockey forward Julie Chu, who competed in her fourth Olympics, carried the U.S. flag. "So proud to represent Team USA (and) our amazing athletes. Humbled," Chu tweeted as she waited to enter the stadium. Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse, who won their second womens bobsled gold medal in a row, were co-flag bearers for Canada. Figure skater Maxim Trankov, a dual gold medalist in Sochi, carried Russias flag. Pop music played, but the ceremony also included a heavy dose of classical music and ballet like the opening ceremony, and a nod to Russian novelists and poets. All of it was done as temperatures hovered in the 40s, a cool close to the so- called Spring Olympics, where the weather was famously mild, with temperatures even climbing into the 60s on some days. That led to some strange scenes, including cross country skiers cutting the sleeves off their uniforms and American skier Julia Mancuso filming a surfing video for NBC on the Black Sea. There was a serious side to the warmer weather, of course, which wreaked havoc on some courses for the snow events. Snowboarders complained about slushy conditions on the halfpipe and the New York Times detailed a clandestine operation by organizers to purchase more salt needed to keep some courses properly iced. Norwegian biathlete Ole Einar Bjoerndalen set the all-time Winter Olympics record during the games by winning his 12th and 13th medals, both golds. But Russia led the overall medal count with 33, including 13 gold medals to fall one short of the Winter Games record of 14 set by Canada four years ago at the Vancouver Olympics. The U.S. finished second with 28 medals, nine fewer than the Winter Games record 37 they captured in Vancouver. Norway was third overall with 26 medals and Canada won 25, including 10 gold -- the last secured by the mens hockey team on Sunday in a win over Sweden. Cody Latimer Broncos Jersey. . The Russian anthem played for the last time at the closing ceremony during the medal ceremony for the mens 50-kilometer cross country race. Alexander Legkov led a Russian medal sweep of that event Sunday morning. Sochi organizing committee head Dmitry Chernyshenko called the games "a great moment in our history ... a moment that will never be forgotten." "This is the new face of Russia, our Russia," he said. "And for us, these games are the best ever." Russian President Vladimir Putins $51 billion Olympics were the subject of snickers early on when media and athletes arrived to find some accommodations lacking. Journalists relayed stories of unfinished rooms, broken door handles, missing shower curtains and even stray dogs in their media villages. One was told not to use the water in her bathroom, which was said to contain a dangerous chemical. U.S. bobsledder Johnny Quinn became an Internet sensation after tweeting a picture of his bathroom door, which he had broken through after becoming locked inside. The Twitter account SochiProblems had more than 330,000 followers by the time of Sundays closing ceremony, but the criticism so prevalent in the first days died down, giving way to wide praise of Sochis venues. IOC President Thomas Bach, presiding over his first games, said the athletes left a legacy of "peace, tolerance and respect" and urged, as IOC heads often do, that countries around the world follow the example. Bach thanked Putin for what he said was the Russian presidents "personal commitment to the extraordinary success" of the games. "We leave as friends of the Russian people," said Bach. News broke during the opening ceremony that a plane had been diverted to an airport in Turkey after a passenger on board allegedly issued a bomb threat and tried to have the aircraft redirected to Sochi. The incident further raised fears that Russias first Olympics in 34 years could be the target of a terrorist attack, but the games passed without any such incident. The host country faced criticism in the run-up to the games after passing laws last year aimed at keeping gay "propaganda" away from children, and officials remained adamant throughout that political protests should be kept away from Olympic venues. In the highest-profile incident of its kind, two members of the punk band Pussy Riot were among several people detained for several hours as they planned to film a protest video in Sochi. They set up a day later to film again, but were interrupted by Cossacks who attacked them with whips. The games went without a positive doping test until the final weekend, when there were six. In the last case, Swedish hockey star Nicklas Backstrom was scratched from the gold medal game Sunday after testing positive for a banned substance found in allergy medication his NHL team said he has been taking for seven years to combat severe allergies. The Washington Capitals said the medication was approved by the Swedish national team. ' ' '

PITTSBURGH -- Gregory Polanco is headed to the majors. James White Red Jersey . The Pittsburgh Pirates called up their coveted outfield prospect late Monday night after placing second baseman Neil Walker on the 15-day disabled list. Walker experienced abdominal pain shortly before Pittsburghs 6-2 win over the Chicago Cubs and underwent an emergency appendectomy. Pirates fans have been waiting eagerly for Polanco to arrive. The 22-year-old from the Dominican Republic was hitting .347 with seven home runs in 62 games for Triple-A Indianapolis. Polancos arrival will likely move utility player Josh Harrison to second base. Harrison has sparkled in right field since being given the job on a full-time basis last month. Harrison played second on Monday night after Walker was scratched. James White Kids Jersey . -- Mason Raymond used some fancy stickhandling to help Vancouver overcome a blown lead. Jimmy Garoppolo Authentic Jersey . 1 seed. James and Chris Bosh took the night off Monday, and the Heat were beaten 114-93 by the Washington Wizards in a no-contest game that guaranteed the Eastern Conferences top seed for the Indiana Pacers. So, no disappointment at all? "There would be no disappointment," said Dwyane Wade, who played because he needed some minutes after his recent nine-game layoff with a hamstring injury.VANCOUVER -- Jay DeMerit says if Kekuta Manneh can realize his full potential, the 18-year-old wont be with the Vancouver Whitecaps for very long. Until last week, the Gambian-born forward was having a productive rookie season in Major League Soccer, flying mostly under the radar outside of Vancouver. But everything changed thanks to a stunning hat trick in a 4-1 road victory over the Seattle Sounders on Oct. 9 that saw the Whitecaps keep their playoff hopes alive. "Hopefully, if he keeps the right attitude, hell be somewhere else," DeMerit said Thursday when asked where he saw Mannehs career in a few years. "Thats not a bad thing. You draft kids to mentor them and make them better and you try not to hold those kinds of guys back. "Everyone speaks of his talent, and he knows of his talent. Now its just about making the most of that talent." But the 33-year-old Vancouver captain cautioned: "Hes not going to go anywhere unless he performs here first." And perform he did against the Sounders in a game the Whitecaps badly needed. Manneh scored in the 12th, 42nd and 54th minute for the franchises first MLS hat trick to send Vancouver to its first-ever league victory in Seattle. "Its always great to score a goal (and) especially a hat trick. Im really grateful to my team for the support they gave me," said the five-foot-nine Manneh, now also the youngest player to score an MLS hat trick. "It was a great feeling." Vancouver head coach Martin Rennie has had difficulty finding a consistent strike partner for Brazilian forward Camilo Sanvezzo this season, but seems to have something with Manneh. "Throughout the season hes just been developing as a player whos got exciting technique, great skills," said Rennie. "Hes naturally just a very gifted player and now hes learning the things weve been talking about. Hes learning his position a little bit more. Hes learning what it means to be a professsional player. Bryan Stork Red Jersey. " Named MLS player of the week for his performance against the Sounders, Manneh was born in Madiba Kunda, Gambia, and played soccer non-stop as a child. "(Soccer) is all we do," he said with a smile. "Thats the sport you want to play. "We still have the field that I played on -- a dirt field." After his mother died when he was 10 years old, Manneh found his way to a Gambian soccer academy, which had a partnership with youth clubs in the United States. Manneh left Africa at age 15, eventually finding his way to a team in Austin, Texas, where he billeted with a family that would eventually adopt him. Fast-forward three years, the Whitecaps took Manneh with the fourth pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. The club has tried to bring him on slowly, but he showed flashes of brilliance early in his professional career. "Coming in the first year I just wanted to learn as much as I could from the coaches and the senior players," he said. "I just came in every single day, worked hard and it paid off." Manneh came on as a second-half substitute with Vancouver trailing 2-0 against FC Dallas on April 27 and brought his team back to level with a goal and an assist. The Whitecaps (12-11-9) are three points out of the final post-season spot in the Western Conference, but play their final two games of the season against the fifth-place Colorado Rapids (13-10-9), who currently hold down the last playoff berth. Colorado hosts Vancouver on Saturday, before playing at B.C. Place Stadium on Oct. 27. With five goals and two assists in 18 games, including four starts, Manneh is trying to help the Whitecaps secure a playoff berth that seemed unlikely just a few weeks ago. "Over the course of the year, hes improved," said Rennie. "Hopefully over the course of a couple years he can improve the same or more and then youve got really a potentially consistent top player." The Force had two men, including former Wallabies No. 8 Ben McCalman, in the sin-bin in the dying minutes of the match, but were able to resist a late Highlanders surge to post a four-try, bonus point win. The victory followed last weeks 32-7 win over the Melbourne Rebels, giving the Perth-based Force their first back-to-back wins since April 2011. Replacement flyhalf Hayden Parker scored a try for the Highlanders in the final minute but missed a wide-angled conversion which would have given the Dunedin-based side a draw. The Force have now won six of their eight games against the Highlanders since their admission to Super Rugby in 2006. The Force took a 21-16 lead at halftime after a first half in which the lead changed hands four times. Hooker Nathan Charles, flyhalf Sias Ebersohn and McCalman each scored tries to give the visitors the early advantage. Winger Junior Rasolea then added the fourth, bonus point try in the 56th minute, giving the Force a 31-16 lead which allowed them to weather the Highlanders rrally in the last quarter.www.shopjerseysbroncos.com/Womens-Michael-Schofield-Authentic-Jersey/. The home side fought back with tries by Parker and centre Malakai Fekitoa, but couldnt bridge the gap, even with the Force short on men. Ebersohn scored a brilliant try from an intercept and kicked five goals from five attempts -- four conversions and a penalty -- for a personal tally of 16 points. "Its going well," Force captain Matt Hodgson said. "I think were playing some good football now, starting games strong and, like you saw there, finishing it off with 13 men." The Force play the unbeaten defending champion Chiefs in their next match. The Highlanders were unable to put concerted pressure on the Force and defended poorly at times, allowing the visitors to pull away. "We probably didnt play quite the right footy in that first half," captain Ben Smith said. "We let in a couple of soft tries which came back to bite us a bit." ------ Western Force 31 (Nathan Charles, Sias Ebersohn, Ben McCalman, Junior Rasolea tries; Sias Ebersohn 4 conversions, penalty), Highlanders 29 (Shaun Treeby, Malakai Fekitoa, Hayden Parker tries; Lima Sopaga conversion, 4 penalties). ANAHEIM, Calif. Cyrus Kouandjio Blue Jersey . -- Martin Jones NHL debut ended in a nine-round shootout, with the Anaheim Ducks high-scoring lineup taking turns bearing down on the Los Angeles Kings new goalie. Jones faced up to the pressure and turned away everything he saw, leading the Kings to a strong start to the Freeway Faceoff. Jones made 26 saves before his perfect shootout performance, and Dwight King scored the only shootout goal Tuesday night in the Kings 3-2 victory over the Ducks. Jeff Carter and captain Dustin Brown scored for the Kings, who have earned a point in 13 of their last 14 games. They barely escaped Orange County with a second point thanks to Jones, the 23-year-old AHL goalie who got a promotion after Jonathan Quicks injury. "To be honest, Ive been in that situation before," Jones said of the lengthy shootout. "Obviously, the shooters are a little bit of a higher level up here, but I just wanted to stay patient and stick with what Ive been doing down (in the AHL). Jones has spent nearly three weeks as the backup to Ben Scrivens, who started the Kings last 10 games after Quick went down with a groin injury. Scrivens has been one of the NHLs best netminders in Quicks absence, keeping Jones out of the crease until this back-to-back set. Jones was ready for the long-delayed opportunity, even against Anaheims vaunted collection of forwards. "Once you start the day and start going through your routine, everything is pretty familiar," Jones said. "And its the same game. It was intense, for sure. I wanted to make sure I was just prepared and as focused as I could be, and try to enjoy it a little bit if I could. It was a great experience, and something Ive dreamed about for a long time -- playing in an NHL game and getting a win. It was everything it was cracked up to be." Southern Californias two NHL teams started off their season series with an entertaining game befitting two clubs entering the night with their best combined record (35-14-8) in the two-decade, 113-game history of this head-to-head rivalry. Anaheim veteran Jonas Hiller made a season-high 49 saves and stopped Los Angeles first eight shootout attempts, but King scored on a wrist shot before Jones stopped Mathieu Perreault to end it. "Its good to see a kid play in his first game and get a win somehow," Los Angeles coach Darryl Sutter said. "Hes a pretty poised guy when you watch him. Hopefully this is something he can build on." Corey Perry and captain Ryan Getzlaf scored for the Ducks, still the only NHL team that hasnt lost in regulation at home. Anaheim is 10-0-2 at Honda Center, becoming just the third team to earn a point in its first 12 home games since the implementation of the shootout in 2005. "Its tough to lose it that way," said Hiller, who finished two saves shy of his career high. "I dont know if (King) missed the shot a little big, but it kind of caught me right between the pad and my glove. Its a tough one." Perry scored a tiebreaking power-play goal for Anaheim early in the third period, but Brown tied it for Los Angeles a few minutes later. Both teams had fruitless power plays during a hair-raising overtime, including a two-man advantage for Anaheim. "(Hiller) was tremendous," Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau said. "He was the reason we got a point tonight. When you have the opportunity on your stick, whether you deserve to win the game or not, youve got to put it away. That killer instinct has been eluding us for a little bit now. Weve got to find it somewhere." The local rivals finally got their season series underway in front of a raucous bipartisan crowd. The 2012 Stanley Cup champion Kings and the 2013 Pacific Division champion Ducks are both serious title contenders again this year, and theyll meet at Dodger Stadium on Jan. 25 for a landmark outdoor game. Perry put the Ducks ahead when he roofed a backhand off a pass from Penner, but just 3:29 later, Stoll won a faceoff to Brown, whose heavy shot escaped Hillers glove and trickled into Anaheims net. The goal was Browns first in seven games, just his second in 14 games. Los Angeles is in an 0-for-25 power-play slump over the past seven games. NOTES: Los Angeles scratched LW Daniel Carcillo and RW Linden Vey for the second straight game, dressing Matt Frattin and Colin Fraser. ... Anaheim scratched D Alex Grant, who scored a goal in his NHL debut in San Jose last Saturday. ... Los Angeles signed the 23-year-old Jones as an unrestricted free agent five years ago during his junior career in Calgary. He rose to a starting position for the Kings AHL affiliate in Manchester, but was stuck behind Quick and Jonathan Bernier, traded to Toronto last summer. Cyrus Kouandjio Kids Jersey . After scoring a hat trick in a 4-4 draw with Portland last weekend, Dempsey followed up that performance with a two-goal effort in a 3-2 Seattle victory over FC Dallas on Saturday. The United States international scored on a 35-yard free kick in the 22nd minute to level the match at 1-1, while it was Dempseys cross that was redirected into his own net by Dallas defender Stephen Keel in the 75th minute to even the contest at 2-2. UNIONDALE, N. Authentic Lamin Barrow Jersey .Y. -- The Detroit Red Wings had just enough time to salvage a point. They still havent figured out how to make the most of overtime. Pavel Datsyuk, in his 800th NHL game, scored his second goal of the night with 42.5 seconds left in regulation, but the Red Wings couldnt turn it into a win as they were beaten 5-4 by the New York Islanders in a shootout on Saturday night. The Red Wings have lost six straight overall, five in a row in extra time, and three consecutive in shootouts -- including two on back-to-back nights. "If we hadnt gone through the last five, six games, this point would be pretty good," forward Henrik Zetterberg said. "Right now its tough. We cant find a way to win a game. I think we battled hard. It was a back-to-back game and we found a way to come back at the end. "Overall, I think its a good point, but we were right there to get two points." The Red Wings arrived in New York around 2 a.m. Saturday after losing at home to Washington on Friday. Detroit is 1-7 after regulation this season, 0-4 in shootouts. "We found a way to get a point," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "We obviously have to get better. We will get better. Its pretty obvious weve got to win in regulation because the shootout is killing us. "Its like anything in life, it gets in your head a little bit. To me weve got to be hard-headed and mentally tough. The standings could be a lot different for us if we won all these games, especially these shootouts." Kevin Poulin was the difference for the Islanders after he replaced the injured Evgeni Nabokov in the first period. Neither team could hold the lead until he finally shut the door in the tiebreaker, denying Henrik Zetterberg, Datsyuk and Todd Bertuzzi. "I love this," Poulin said. "I was not nervous in the shootout, was pretty excited actually. I felt comfortable. You have to be ready to jump in. Thats why I play hockey." Frans Nielsen scored the only shootout goal for the Islanders, who had dropped five of six. "Kevin really stepped up for us," Islanders captain John Tavares said. "We kept calm and it paid off in the end." Cal Clutterbuck had given the Islanders a 4-3 lead when he had the second deflection of Aaron Ness shot from the left point past Gustavsson 4:43 into the third for his second goal. The Islanders are 6-0-1 against Detroit in the past seven meetings and havent been beaten by the Red Wings in regulation since November 2003. New York outshot Detroit 15-4 in the third period and 6-1 in overtime. Tavares had a goal and assist to stretch his point and assist streaks to five games. Casey Cizikas and Brock Nelson both scored tying goals in the second period for the Islanders. Poulin made 19 saves in relief of Nabokov, who injured a groin. Darren Helm and Johan Franzen had the other goals for the Red Wings, and Gustavsson stopped 37 shots through overtime in his first outing in place of Jimmy Howard since Oct. 23. Both teams were held at bay throughout most of the second period, but then combined for three goals in a span of 1:20 in the final three minutes of the frame. The Islanders got even 2-2 when the Red Wings poorly played a rush into their zone. Matt Martin carried the puck deep and fanned on a shot, but Colin McDonald got his stick on the puck and put it on Gustavsson. Cizikas got to that rebound and scored his second of the season and second in two games with 2:10 remaining. But for the second time, Islanders fans barely had a chance to celebrate before the Red Wings responded. Helm brought the puck into the New York zone and fed a pass to Franzen on the left wing. Franzen glided from the circle into the middle of the ice and snapped a drive past Poulin just 33 seconds later. This time it was the Islanders turn to answer quickly, and they did it 20 seconds into Luke Glendenings tripping penalty. Nelson scored with a second poke with 49.5 seconds remaining. The Red Wings wiped out their early 1-0 deficit just nine seconds after they fell behind, and knocked out Nabokov in the process. Helm won a faceoff against Tavares, right after the Islanders captain put New York in front at 4:03 with his ninth goal. The Red Wings controlled the puck in their zone until defenceman Jonathan Ericsson found Helm with a long lead pass that led to a breakaway. Helm came in on Nabokov, made a move that caused the goalie to do a split, and scored his second of the season at 4:12 to tie it 1-1. The 38-year-old Nabokov was playing for the first time in four games and the second in six.
